Infrared Sauna

People living today carry within their bodies a chemical cocktail made up of industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, heavy metals, as well as toxins from alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and illegal drugs.

We need to detoxify! But what is the best way to detoxify? There are several methods being used today: chelation, where enzyme preparations are injected into the bloodstream, binding toxins as they pass through and are excreted; fasting, with or without herbal and mineral preparations and/or colonics to help to remove toxins; and saunas, removing toxins through sweating. Whereas the first two methods are suitable for persons with a high degree of dedication and/or discipline, the sauna method is one that can be used easily and effectively by almost everyone. Saunas get your heart beating and your blood circulating, helping the body to detoxify in unique and important ways.

People have been detoxifying and restoring themselves this way throughout history. Some use conventional steam, some use heated rocks, and others use efficient infrared heaters. A study analyzing the chemical composition of sweat found that the sweat of participants using the box of hot rocks sauna had 95-97% water, while the sweat of those using an infrared sauna was 80-85% water--the rest being composed of cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, heavy metals (such as mercury and cadmium), sulfuric acid, ammonia, sodium, and uric acid.Detoxification Through the Skin by Mark Sircus Ac., OMD

Far Infrared Saunas are being used by some doctors to stimulate the release of toxins from the bodies of their patients. They have found that a lower temperature (105-110 F) sauna taken for a longer duration is most beneficial. These low temperatures stimulate a deep sweat, which eliminates toxins stored in fat, as opposed to the high temperature sauna, which encourages a water sweat.

The United States Centers for Disease Control estimate that over 80% of all illnesses have environmental and lifestyle causes. Therefore, detox has also become a prominent treatment as people have become more aware of environmental pollution. For example, it is estimated that one in every four Americans suffers from some level of heavy metal poisoning, including mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum.

Toxins in the body also include chemical pollutants such as pesticides, DDT, PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) and food additives. Drugs and alcohol also have toxic effects in the body.Source: Sweat It All Out; How Stuff Works; Zane R. Gard, MD & Erma J. Brown, BSN, PhN TlfDP, October 1992 DISCLAIMER:

Army research shows infrared sauna use can burn as many as 300 to 600 calories during one sauna session. This happens due to the sweating process itself, as well as increased heart rate. Even though most of the weight lost in infrared saunas is water, regular sauna use can complement a weight-loss program. Sauna removes water from body as well as salt. One may question what has salt to do with weight loss. Well, salt in our body is deposited beneath the skin and for the salt to remain nontoxic, it requires water. Hence to keep the body intoxicated, lot of water is required and this adds to the bulk. Now the sauna helps reduce weight by removing the excess salt in the body, which is deposited under the skin along with water.Effect of Sweating - Journal of the American Medical Association, August 7, 1981

An Infrared Sauna assists in weight loss in three significant ways:

It effectively reduces heavy metals which have been directly related to metabolic imbalances in the body causing poor digestion and weight gain.

It decreases fat stored (lipophilic) toxins. Often weight loss cannot be accomplished unless these toxins are first removed.

Although weight loss due to perspiration (water loss) is quickly regained, sending more blood to the capillaries and converting fats and carbohydrates results in as much as 600 calories burned during one short sauna session.

Saunas are an important aid to weight loss and thyroid repair because as you lose weight, fat tissue releases stored toxins such as PCBs and pesticides.Dr. Mark Hyman, author of NY Times bestselling book "Ultrametabolism"

In the sauna, skin is cleansed and dead cells are replaced, keeping the skin in good working condition. Sauna heat also relaxes facial tensions, and improves skin elasticity. Sweating rinses bacteria out of the epidermal layer and sweat ducts.

Finnish researchers have reported that the regular use of saunas helps maintain the blood vessels in a healthier condition. Vessels become more elastic and pliable longer due to regular dilation and contraction from the process of heating and cooling the body repeatedly. Medical research shows the heart rate can rise from 60-70/min. to 110 to 120/min. in the sauna (140 - 150 with more intensive bathing), and can often sink to below normal after the cooling off stage. The heart rate increases in the sauna create a demand for more oxygen, which in turn burns calories and provides a mild workout for the heart. Regular sauna use not only "trains" the heart muscles and improves the heart rate/cardiac output, but also positively influences the regulatory system. Repeated and multiple sauna "innings" further increase the cardiovascular workout.

"Waon therapy" is defined as therapy in which the entire body is warmed in an evenly heated chamber (device) for 15 minutes at a temperature that soothes the mind and body, and after the deep-body temperature has increased by approximately 1.8-2.16°F, the soothing warmth effects are sustained by maintaining the warmth at rest for an additional 30 minutes, with fluids corresponding to perspiration being supplied at the end. What is Waon Therapy

Crystal Sauna products were tested and the core body temprature was raised 1.8°F after 20 minutes of use (test results). A person who uses our infrared saunas can receive all the benefits on "Woan therapy" which were proven in many studys (see below).

When using a sauna, blood vessel dilation brings blood closer to the surface of the skin and, as blood vessels expand to accommodate increased blood flow, circulation in the extremities improves, and the blood pressure gets lower. The effect on the blood pressure is temporary, but medical research shows that frequent sauna bathing can make person's blood pressure level also to stay lower.
